What is a student support team?
Our student support team (SST) is a central part of the student support system in our school. It is the overarching team concerned with the progressing of actions for the welfare and wellbeing of all students. It is a mechanism through which many of the existing student supports are coordinated and planned.
Role of the Student Support Team
Through implementing a continuum of support, the student support team provides for the educational, social, emotional, behavioural, and learning needs of All, Some and Few students to ensure their ongoing wellbeing. Examples of some whole-school approaches in our school include running an anti-bullying week; implementing universal social and emotional learning programmes such as Friends for Life, or Alert.
