Exciting News

We are delighted to announce that we will receive a complete new school costing €20 million euro. This state of the art, A-rated building will provide top-class facilities for our prospective students.

The school grounds of St Mary’s Academy faces onto many surrounding historic buildings which has influenced the treatment of the elevations of the multi-purpose hall, library and general-purpose hall to respect and receive a civic identity within their form and presence.

The proposed scheme is laid out into a simple L-shaped plan, with interconnecting volumes at different heights and geometry that allow for natural entrance ways and in turn highlights the presence of the teaching spaces, social spaces and civic spaces.

The materiality of the project uses untreated render, a stone like shade brick facade and reinforced concrete fins that appear like large cut stones that often interrupted the frame as lintels or cornerstones. The strict proportions of the façades embed the contemporary architecture of the school within its urban and cultural context
